Why it costs more — and lasts longer
Open the door. That's where the difference lives.
Most cabinets sold in America are particleboard boxes with a printed film wrapped over them. They look fine on install day. Ten years of steam, spills and slammed drawers later, the edges swell and the doors sag.
Ours are built the way cabinets were built before any of that: by hand, out of real wood, by craftsmen who put their name on the job.

-
Dovetailed solid-wood drawer boxesMechanically joined at the corners. They don't come apart when the drawer is loaded with cast iron.

Common questions
Before you call, here's what most people ask.
What does a custom Amish kitchen cost?
Most full kitchens we build land between $18,000 and $35,000 for cabinetry, hardware, finish and installation. Smaller kitchens and single-room projects often start around $9,000. Whole-home projects run higher. You get a firm written number before any wood is cut. Our cost guide breaks down exactly what moves the price.
How long does a project take?
Most kitchens run eight to twelve weeks from the day you approve the design to the day we finish installing. We give you the schedule in writing up front, and if anything shifts you hear it from us early, not on install day. See the full week-by-week timeline.
Do you install, or just build and drop off?
We install. The same shop that builds your cabinets measures the room, delivers, sets, scribes and adjusts them. There's no handoff to an outside installer and no finger-pointing if something needs fixing.
Can I match cabinets to trim or furniture I already have?
Yes. Bring us a drawer front, a piece of trim, a photo, or a paint chip. We match wood species, stain and paint color, and we'll show you a finished sample on your actual wood before we commit the whole kitchen to it. Not sure which species? Compare hickory, maple, oak, cherry and alder.
Do I have to know what I want before I call?
No — most people don't. Bring a rough idea, a Pinterest board, or nothing at all. The consultation is where we figure out what fits your room and your budget. There's no charge and no obligation.
Do you work with builders and contractors?
Regularly. We read plans, hold to the construction schedule, and coordinate directly with general contractors, countertop fabricators and electricians. If you're building new, get us involved early — it saves money.
What happens if something isn't right?
You call us and we come back. We built it, we installed it, and our name is on it. Wood moves with Wisconsin seasons and a door occasionally needs an adjustment in the first year — that's part of the job, not an extra.
